Is there bad blood between Jodie Sweetin and the Olsen twins?
The actress appeared on the Black Eyed Peas member Taboo’s Comics and Kicks podcast on Tuesday, where she addressed her current relationship with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. You know that the trio played the Tanner sisters on the beloved sitcom Full House for eight seasons between 1987 and 1995. However, the twins declined to reprise their role as Michelle Tanner in the Netflix revival Fuller House over two decades later. And someone — and by someone, we mean John Stamos — wasn’t too happy about their absence! He was full-on feuding with his TV nieces at one point!

The death of their TV dad, Bob Saget, in 2022 sadly ended up bringing the cast together again. And the group, even Jodie, is still on friendly terms with the Olsens years later. Reflecting on their decision not to return to Fuller House, she said on the podcast:
“You know, this isn’t what they love. Everyone’s on good terms with them, but they were 8 years old when this show stopped. Then they did all of those movies and all that stuff that I don’t know that they really loved doing all the time. So I think, for them, they walked away from all of us at 8 years old.”
Jodie’s experience on the show was also way different from Mary-Kate and Ashley’s because it happened during her “formative years” between 5 and 13:
“Eight and earlier, you don’t remember all that much. They have a different relationship to being on set all the time. They might not remember being 2 years old and having, you know, us all carrying them around and doing this stuff, but I do.”
And ultimately, Jodie stressed that acting is “not their thing” now. The IRL sisters run their luxury fashion empire The Row and “don’t want attention,” and that’s fine! That’s their choice to make! She added:
“They had so much and they were so invaded and so for public consumption, I totally understand why they don’t want to do that.”
As a fellow child star, we’d hope Jodie would understand! We’re glad she gets it, and she is on good terms with Mary-Kate and Ashley. At least some of the Tanner sisters are getting along these days! Watch Jodie talk about the Olsen twins (below):
