The Obamas may be staying in Washington after the election, but it looks like Joe Biden is heading to Hollywood — the Vice President is set to appear in an upcoming episode of Law & Order: SVU.
But this guest spot isn’t just for fun, as the episode will focus on the fight to end violence against women. According to a press release from the White House:
“[T]he Vice President will tape an appearance on [the series] on the rape kit backlog and efforts to end violence against women.”

The federal government estimated that hundreds of thousands of rape kits — which are instrumental in solving and preventing sexual assault crimes — sit untested in storage facilities across the country.
This is known as the rape kit backlog, which represents a lost opportunity to bring justice to a survivor of sexual violence.
Biden has been a longtime advocate for stopping violence against women, and we think it’s great he’s shedding light on the government shortcomings — all while engaging in some intense dialogue with Mariska Hargitay.
