This is why it’s important to always take guns seriously, even if you handle them often.
UFC fighter Joe Riggs shot himself in the thigh on July 28th while he was cleaning his gun at home in Arizona.
The fighter is a licensed gun owner, and called the shooting a careless mistake.
Um, DUH!
The bullet hit his thigh and also injured Joe’s hand, causing him to bow out of his next fight.
Mr. Riggs was scheduled to fight Paulo Thiago in the octagon on September 13th during UFC Fight Night 51 in Brasilia, Brazil.
But now, he’s been replaced by Sean Spencer.
Luckily for Joe, he’ll be just fine and is recovering from the wound, but ironically, the day before he shot himself, Joe Facebooked this message:
Guess this isn’t QUITE what he had in mind when he said “some doctor stuff.”
He’s lucky it turned out this way because it could have been much worse!
