Not long after John Cena went on the Today show to talk about his relationship with Nikki Bella, now it’s time for her to do the same — and the Total Bellas star isn’t holding back when discussing what went wrong as the pair’s wedding fell through.
Bella, 34, went on the Today show earlier Wednesday morning and revealed that there were some deep-rooted issues between the couple that were really at the heart of their breakup just a few weeks ago.

But she’s still holding out hope that the pair may have a future together! She explained (below):
“I think that a lot of us through the wedding planning process are forced to face all these issues we have just hiding deep down inside. I just know that a healthy me would be a healthy us, and I do have hope for a future, but I know right now I need to work on me.”
And she continued on, alluding to the fact that she and Cena need to get in the right (same) place about things like whether to start a family before they walk down the aisle and make that commitment (below):
“Before I do say those vows and walk down that aisle, I just don’t want to be hesitant. I don’t want to be regretful. I think when you sacrifice for so long, it’s like, you can give so much and then you kind of get tired of giving. And then someone wants to give it back and you just already feel exhausted … But I definitely have hope. I really do.”
That’s honestly pretty optimistic!!
Especially considering how it comes on the heels of Cena’s own appearance on Today where he admitted that, all of a sudden, he is now open to the idea of having children!
No doubt these two may find their way back to each other yet…

It’ll be interesting to see it unfold in real time, though, because E! just released the trailer for the upcoming season of Total Bellas, too, and in it we can start to see all the cracks in the foundation that led us to this very point in the first place.

Maybe as we learn more about how things went so wrong over the last few months, it’ll become more clear than ever that Nikki and John are made for each other and destined to wind up together.
