John Goodman would realllllly like to stay out of all this Roseanne drama, if that’s okay with you.
The industry vet broke his silence on the cancellation of the hit ABC reboot, but was very cautious with his words regarding the controversy surrounding his former costar.

Recent footage obtained by ET showed the 65-year-old at an auto repair shop in New Orleans being reluctant to address the drama, saying that he would “rather say nothing than to cause more trouble.”
He’s so bent on staying out of trouble, in fact, the actor — who played Roseanne Barr‘s on-screen husband Dan Conner — has been purposely avoiding reading news about the controversy! He admitted:
“I don’t know anything about it. I don’t read it.”
That includes rumors the show could possibly continue in the form of a spin-off, which many have speculated would see Barr’s character written off and the focus shifted to Goodman’s character.
The actor didn’t have much to say about those reports either, adding:
“Then you’ve heard more than I have.”
Goodman did seem content, however, with ABC deciding to suspend its Emmys campaign for the show’s recent 10th season, robbing the cast and creators of the chance to see any love from this year’s Emmy Awards.

He said as he shrugged:
“I wasn’t gonna get an Emmy anyway. I’ve been up there [11] times already, and if I didn’t get one I’m not gonna get one.”
Don’t feel too bad for Goodman, though. The prolific performer still has plenty of roles to look forward to, as he assured fans:
“Everything’s fine.”
Unbothered and uninvolved!
