One of the worst movies of all time??? Maybe?
One of the worst John Travolta movies of all time?? DEFINITELY — though, for the record, the Grease star has now made THREE movies which have netted the dreaded zero percent score from critics over on movie review site Rotten Tomatoes.
Regardless, Gotti — Travolta’s brand new biopic about the late mobster John Gotti — hit theaters for the first time yesterday, and it’s already a disaster.

As of 12:00 p.m. ET today (Saturday, June 16), a whopping TWENTY movie critics had reviewed the film… and all 20 had blasted it, leaving the dreaded zero percent score intact on the review site. Not great, John!
But wait — it gets worse! The reviews that critics are leaving are particularly damning in how they describe this apparently awful film, too!
New York Times critic Glenn Kenny writes (below):
“That the long-gestating crime drama Gotti is a dismal mess comes as no surprise. What does shock is just how multifaceted a dismal mess it is.”
Oooof!
THR‘s Jordan Mintzer added (below):
“The film is pretty terrible: poorly written, devoid of tension, ridiculous in spots and just plain dull in others.”
Yikes!

EW‘s Chris Nashawaty was at least a little deferential to Travolta himself (below):
“It’s not a good movie. But the blame can’t be laid at its star’s Ferragamo-shod feet.”
And AARP‘s Tim Appelo even partially praises Travolta for his over-the-top gangster portrayal of the infamous mob boss (below):
“For Travolta fans, it’s worth tolerating the script’s ridiculousness to see him get his gangster on.”
But other critics, like Peter Travers from Rolling Stone, aren’t so generous (below):
“Starring in this mobster biopic that deserves to get whacked is an offer Travolta should have refused. Insane testimonials from Gotti supporters at the end are as close as this shitshow will ever get to good reviews.”
