Guests of John Waters‘ annual holiday party — which has been around for 45 years — were in for a bit of a disappointment on Friday when they learned the host would not be in attendance.
It was reported on Tuesday that the 70-year-old iconic Hairspray director was hospitalized over the weekend because of kidney stones.

But we’re happy to let you know the Cry-Baby filmmaker is already on the mend, as he told the Baltimore Fishbowl:
“Since my party has always been private and off the record I think I’ll just keep it that way. I am fine and it’s a new concept in home entertainment — the host doesn’t show up. All is well. JW.”
