Thank goodness Disney got their panties out of a bunch and picked Lone Ranger back up!
Now Johnny Depp can pay homage to all of the wonderful Native Americans out there.
Yep, the acting god wants to use his character Tonto to make a point. He says:
I like the character of Tonto. I think I have interesting plans for the character, and I think the film itself could be entertaining and very funny. But also I like the idea of having the opportunity to make fun of the idea of the Indian as a sidekick ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ which has always been [the case] throughout the history of Hollywood, the Native American has always been a second-class, third-class, fourth-class citizen, and I don’t see Tonto that way at all. So it’s an opportunity for me to salute Native Americans.
Very niiice, Johnny! If there’s anyone in Hollywood who can do it properly, we think it’s you (sorry Team Jacob)!
If you’re going to the premiere of Rum Diary tonight, gaze at him for us!
