Dead Men Tell No Tales all right… no tales until late 2015 or after!
That’s how it seems now that the pause button has been pressed on Pirates of the Caribbean 5.
Due to script issues, Johnny Depp‘s legendary Captain Jack Sparrow will have to wait a lil’ longer before venturing out into more swashbuckling adventures.
Though the four previous films earned $3.7 billion in box offices worldwide, Disney wants to make sure the fifth installment’s story holds as much integrity as possible, with all of the proper elements in place.
If we had to guess, we’d say it’s probably because the general consensus surrounding the fourth film was only ‘eh’ in comparison to the first three, despite the global megabucks it made.
So in that regard, we applaud the decision-makers behind this particular programming change.
Originally due in theaters July 2015, this push-back will help in box office competition too as the second Avengers film, the mega Batman Superman movie, and Marvel’s Ant Man are all set for the same summer.
But in other Pirates of the Caribbean news, Holly Madison just had her wedding at Disneyland’s popular attraction, LOLz!!
So it’s not all crud for the crew!!
UPDATE: Producer and Hollywood god Jerry Bruckheimer reveals he is hopeful that the film can be ready for summer 2016.
