Why, Johnny, why?!
In a recent interview, olympic figure skater Johnny Weir talked about New York’s Fashion Week and, sadly, his love for fur.
Despite other celebs and fashion icons like Taraji P. Henson and Tim Gunn condemning fur for fashion, Johnny seems to be set in his ways.
When asked if PETA writes him hate letters, he responded:
“Of course. I had to have the FBI go with me to the Olympics because there was a legitimate price put on my head by somebody associated with Friends for Animals. I├óΓé¼Γäóm used to it. They├óΓé¼Γäóre a terrorist group. Everyone has the right to choose their way. I hate when people will wear fur and then say it├óΓé¼Γäós faux just for PR. If you├óΓé¼Γäóre going to wear it then own it, love it.”
Teddy Hilton is not exactly pleased to hear this news, but we can only hope Johnny might be persuaded by the celebs urging fellow fashionistas to stop wearing fur at Fashion Week this year.
P.S.
We’re not a fan of that lady sitting next to him (above) either!
