Not only did Stewart have a segment where nearly all of his correspondents over the years — including Steve Carell, Samantha Bee, Ed Helms, John Oliver, Wyatt Cenac, Lewis Black, Mo Rocaa, Rob Corddry, and even future host Trevor Noah — to bid him farewell, but we also got an EXTREMELY heartfelt Lord of the Rings filled goodbye from Jon’s “Sam,” Stephen Colbert.
The future CBS Late Night host also got the moment to say goodbye in his own words without cue cards and brought the host and us to tears.
Stewart took the final minutes of the show to send us off the only way he knows how, with class by saying:

“This is the most beautiful place I’ve ever been. I’ll never have that again.”
