Jonathan Groff returns to his theatre roots this fall in the Off-Broadway production of The Submission from playwright Jeff Talbott. The show will run from Sept. 8 – Oct. 22 at New York├óΓé¼Γäós Lucille Lortel Theatre and also stars American Pie├óΓé¼Γäós Eddie Kaye Thomas and True Blood’s Rutina Wesley.
Jonathan’s character Danny Larson is a young playwright who poses as an single African American mother in a playwright competition in order to benefit from affirmative action. No word yet how Rutina’s character, Emilie, factors into the story.
