15 years after the death of 6-year-old JonBenet Ramsey, her dad John Ramsay, says he regrets letting his little girl be involved with pageants.
In fact, he calls Toddlers & Tiaras “bizarre.”
In a recent interview, he describes how he remembers JonBenet very differently than how the media portrayed her and how he wishes he and his late wife Patsy knew better to keep her out of the spotlight.
John says:
“I see her, you know, in shorts and t-shirt and hair kind of scruffy and just kind of a kid.
It’s very bizarre. And, it certainly – Patsy and JonBenet didn’t approach it that way. We – they just did it for fun.
Patsy’s mother later told me that a strange man approached the car during the parade and it made her uncomfortable. I think about these things now and it makes me cringe. We were so na├â┬»ve. I now believe with all my heart that it’s not a good idea to put your child on public display.
Only because, that possibly might have drawn attention to us. I don’t know. But, I think for advice to a parent is just recognize that regardless of where you live, there could be evil around you. And- and don’t be naive about it. And keep your kids protected.”
Pretty honest interview. And despite what anyone thinks about what happened the night she was murdered, he does still sound like a grieving dad.
We can’t believe JonBenet would’ve been 22 this year …
