It’s been almost two years since news of Josh Duggar‘s molestation scandal broke, and the Duggar family still hasn’t quite recovered.
The eldest sibling endured nationwide scorn after In Touch magazine released investigative reports detailing his now-admitted molestation of his siblings.
Now that the dust has settled — and Josh is apparently back in the family’s good graces — four of his sisters are seeking legal retribution against the real enemy: the police officials and reporters who released their family secrets to the public!

Jill, Jessa, Jinger, and Joy (the fam’s spinoff-worthy “fab four,” if you will) filed a lawsuit against the city of Springdale, Arkansas over the 2015 police documents, according to TMZ.
In the suit, they claim that they had spoken to authorities in 2006 about the sexual assault when they were all minors, and were assured their statements would only be shared with police and child services.
The Duggar girls say In Touch filed a Freedom of Information Act request in 2015 to obtain the docs — which they used to publish at least 8 stories about the investigation. But under Arkansas laws, the police are apparently forbidden from divulging any information about sexual misconduct involving children.

The girls say the explosive report caused them to be victimized all over again, as the family suffered much public scrutiny after Josh’s actions came to light. Not only was their show 19 Kids And Counting canceled, but the whole scandal totally overshadowed Jessa’s one and only wedding. Ugh!
The Duggar sisters are suing city, county, and police officials, along with the publishers of In Touch, for damages. They said in a statement they’re only seeking legal action to protect all the child victims of abuse.
