Josh Duggar Transferred To New Prison Facility For Inmates With Special Medical & Mental Health Needs

Josh Duggar is no longer behind bars — not at FCI Seagoville anymore, that is!

The 38-year-old disgraced reality star has been serving time at the low-security federal prison in Texas after being sentenced to 12 years for possessing and receiving child sex abuse material in May 2022. However, the Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed this week that Josh has been moved to the Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth, roughly 45 miles west of FCI Seagoville.

Why was the 19 Kids and Counting alum transferred? Well, the exact reason is unknown! Josh’s attorney hasn’t addressed the move yet. A Bureau of Prisons spokesperson also refused to explain why to The US Sun on Tuesday. According to the rep, the agency does not discuss any inmates’ confinement conditions, including potential transfers or the reasons for the move to a new facility. That said, the spokesperson noted someone may be relocated for several reasons, such as due to their security classification, supervision requirements, medical or programming needs, separation concerns, or other institutional safety and inmate protection requirements.

But oftentimes, prisoners are transferred to this facility because they have serious health conditions, need psychiatric treatment, require long-term care, or other specialized services that they can’t get at a standard federal prison. So is Josh suffering from some sort of health or mental health crisis? Who knows! But for now, the former TLC personality will be at the Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth.
