Scary! Convicted Murderers Who Escaped From Prison Were Supposed To Be Driven Seven Hours By A Prison Worker Until She Backed Out!

This is crazy!!!
The two murderers who escaped from an upstate New York prison this week were supposed to be driven more than seven hours to freedom by the prison employee who helped them with the escape, until she backed out of the deal and didn’t show up for the pickup!
According to reports, the plan was to meet up and drive seven hours, letting the two prisoners — Richard Matt and David Sweat get away from the nearby area and have a shot at freedom after their meticulous escape earlier this week.

The employee, Joyce Mitchell, backed out of the plan and eventually turned herself into police, according to Clinton County District Attorney Andrew Wylie:

“They were going to meet down by the power plant, drive, I’m not going to say into the sunset, because it was after midnight and it was dark out, but they were going to drive … potentially to an area that was about seven hours away.”

Wow!!!
Apparently, the inmates made Mitchell feel special, softening her until she brought them tools and other equipment to help with the crazy escape this week, until she had a change of heart:

“Joyce Mitchell ditched the plan to pick up the two inmates partly because she loves her husband and she didn’t want to do this to him.”

Well… duh!
This story could be a thing out of a movie, but it is serious — both inmates have been convicted of murder, including one who shot and killed a New York Sheriff’s Deputy back in 2002, and neither inmate has been found.
