This is so touching — one legend pays tribute to another.
Marc Anthony was performing Sunday night at Radio City Music Hall in New York City when he took a moment to pay tribute to late Mexican singer-songwriter Juan Gabriel, and broke down in tears during the memorial.

Gabriel, of course, is a true legend in Mexican music, and his work has impacted those around the globe.
That wasn’t lost on Anthony, who cried when it came time to pay tribute to Gabriel in a speech recalling how he had first seen JuanGa on that very same stage years ago.
A concertgoer shared:
“There was not a dry eye in the audience during this performance.”
Awww.
Anthony then performed JuanGa’s classic Abrazame Muy Fuerte, and encouraged the audience to sing along (below):

LOVE this picture.
Anthony took to his own Instagram account, too, to pay tribute to JuanGa with a very poignant picture (below):
Hoy el mundo de la música Latina ha perdido un gigante, un ícono y una leyenda que marcó mi vida para siempre. El es gran responsable de que mi carrera tomara este rumbo desde el primer dia. Enormemente triste con la noticia de la pérdida de uno de mis héroes. Una vida más grande que la vida misma se apaga hoy, pero tu música y tu legado quedará con nosotros para siempre. Descansa en paz mi luz. @soyjuangabrielA photo posted by Marc Anthony (@marcanthony) on Aug 28, 2016 at 4:38pm PDT

Anthony had previously worked with Gabriel, on the legend’s album Los D├â┬║o 2. That work peaked at #1 on Billboard Top Latin Albums chart, and Marc Anthony helped wit the salsa version of Yo te recuerdo (below):
So touching.

Obviously, people all over the world who have been inspired, strengthened, and impacted by JuanGa’s music are truly in mourning right now — Marc Anthony, included.
R.I.P., JuanGa, as you clearly had an incredible effect on a countless number of people.
