We can’t believe what we’re hearing…
In a new memoir titled Judy and I: My Life with Judy Garland, Judy Garland‘s third husband Sid Luft says the star was repeatedly groped by actors who played the Munchkins on the set of The Wizard Of Oz.
The producer, who was married to the screen legend from 1952-1965, says the alleged attack happened several times during filming.

He wrote:

“They would make Judy’s life miserable on set by putting their hands under her dress├óΓé¼┬ª The men were 40 or more years old… They thought they could get away with anything because they were so small.”

During a 1967 interview with Jack Parr, Garland said the actors would get intoxicated every night after they wrapped.

“They were drunks├óΓé¼┬ª They got smashed every night, and they picked them up in butterfly nets.”

However, some of the actors deny the “drunk” rumors. According to one of the thespians, Margaret Pellegrini, in a 2009 interview:

“There were a lot of them who liked to go out and have a few drinks, but nothing got out of hand. Everyone was having a good time and enjoying themselves. There was no rowdiness or anything like that, and those stories are very upsetting.”

As we reported, Luft also wrote in the book that his ex-wife slashed her own throat in a suicide attempt.
What a sad, horrible situation…
