What a monstrous thing to do!
Back in 2009, Julie Corey was accused of murdering her 23-year-old pregnant friend Darlene Haynes, after beating and strangling her with an electric cord. Then she cut the baby out of Darlene’s womb and told people it was hers!
Years later, Corey was found guilty of the heinous crime and will be sentenced next week at Worcester Superior Court in Massachusetts.
According to prosecutors, Corey had a miscarriage three months before she cut the baby out of Darlene, who was eight months along. THEN she told the family of her boyfriend, Alex Dion, that the baby was hers!
Can you even believe that?!
Well, the jury didn’t believe her either, obviously.
The sequence of events was really puzzling too, because one minute Corey had a miscarriage, and then she suddenly had a baby, which Dion didn’t seem question. Then, sources say:
“Corey, Mr. Dion and Haynes’ baby were found two days later at a homeless shelter in neighbouring New Hampshire. Her lawyers acknowledged that she was found with the baby but said she played no role in Haynes’ slaying.
Dion testified that Corey, whom he believed was pregnant at the time, called him on July 23, 2009, and told him she was giving Haynes a ride to a store. Later that night, Corey called him to say her water had broken and a friend was taking her to hospital to give birth, Mr. Dion said.
A couple of hours later, Corey called him again and said, ‘We had a baby,’ Mr Dion testified. Mr Dion said Corey arrived home the next morning with a baby girl he believed was his daughter. He said he and Corey introduced the baby to family and friends over the next couple of days.├óΓé¼┬¥
And we know you’re wondering, the four-year-old child is safe and sound with the biological father.
This is such a completely messed up situation!
