How does even happen anymore?! It’s just so awful to think about!
A lab in North Carolina voluntarily shut it’s doors this week after a video was uncovered showing workers abusing dogs, cats and rabbits in their facilities.
Federal regulators were prepared to step in and close down the lab after PETA released an undercover video showcasing the cruel conditions of the lab, but the president of Professional Laboratory and Research Services Inc. beat them to it, claiming to be “disgusted and appalled by the video.”
Now the U.S. Department of Agriculture is working to find homes for more than 200 animals. Kathy Guillermo, vice president of laboratory investigations at PETA said it was “imperative” to place these poor creatures in happy, healthy environments so that they might know “joy and peace” in their lives.
Let’s hope each and every one of those furry little buddies gets a new owner who is just going to love them to pieces.
