Ewwww!
A Kansas man has set the world record for having the largest tonsils.
During a recent tonsillectomy, doctors measured 21-year-old Justin Werner‘s tonsils to be 2.1 inches long, 1.1 inches wide, and 0.7 inches thick, “smashing” the old record, according to Guinness World Records.
Having his tonsils taken out was a life-changing experience for Justin as he suffered from chronic sore throats and an “epic” snoring problem. He says it would even affect his social life. “I├óΓé¼Γäód be kind of quiet sometimes,” Justin said. “If I talked too much in one day I├óΓé¼Γäód have a sore throat the next day, and it wouldn├óΓé¼Γäót be fun.”
He at least got something out of his suffering! On June 22, he officially entered the Guinness Book of World Records, receiving a letter and certificate. He says, “I find it more humorous than anything.”
As for his medical problems, Justin says that ever since his tonsils were taken out, he hasn’t snored once.
Fantastic news! And, um, congrats on the world record!
