Ouch! Not cool, bb!
At the premiere of Justin Bieber’s new movie, Never Say Never, sources caught up with the film’s director to ask him a few questions about the flick. The topic of Kanye West came up and the rumor that he was supposed to appear in the movie, dueting with The Biebs on Runaway Love. Turns out, that was the original plan, but Kanye stood Justin up on the night of the show! Director Jon Chu explains:
“You know, Kanye was supposed to perform it that night. He was supposed to be there!…He Tweeted that song the Friday before, literally the week of the show. They were talking and he was like,
OK, I├óΓé¼Γäóm going to come do the show.’ We planned for it, the day came, and we were like, let├óΓé¼Γäós have him rehearse. He didn├óΓé¼Γäót show up for the rehearsal and we were like, crap! We├óΓé¼Γäóll just let him do his thing. The time comes and I don├óΓé¼Γäót know what happened, if there were contract issues, but he didn├óΓé¼Γäót come. And we had to do the old ‘Runaway Love’ at the last second. Everything was up in the air at that point, and we just had to shoot. ”
Bummer! That would’ve been a hot performance.
You should make this up to him, Kanye. Work something out so that the two of you can perform live together. The fans would go crazy over it! (We know we would!)
