Kanye West has been far from ignored by the Grammys. Having been nominated 53 times and won 21 of them, Yeezy is one of the biggest winners in the show’s history!
This year, Kanye was once again given the tip of the cap with nods for Best Rap Album for Yeezus and Best Rap Song for New Slaves. But it seems there’s just no pleasing some people.
Kanye took to the stage at the US Airways Center in Phoenix on Tuesday and actually seemed upset about the nominations!
Why? There were a bit too few of them in Ye’s estimation. Kanye said:
“And Yeezus is the top one or two album on every single list. But only gets two nominations from the Grammys. What are they trying to say?”
OK, come on! That’s two more nominations than 99.99% of people EVER get! We’re pretty sure they’re trying to say you had one of the best rap albums and songs of the year!
Only Kanye could take an award nomination as a diss. We guess he wants a little more for his soldier-like duties. Maybe a Medal of Honor?
