The stars of Queer Eye continue to sound off on Mario Lopez‘s controversial comments.
As we reported, the Saved By The Bell actor apologized for his remarks on The Candace Owens Show — where he suggested it was “dangerous” for parents of children as young as 3 years old to definitively label their kids as transgender.

On Thursday, TMZ spoke to Karamo Brown about the controversy outside Good Morning America in New York City.
While the 38-year-old forgives the incoming Access Hollywood host, he believes Lopez needs more education on the topic — and is willing to be his teacher.
The Real World alum told the publication:
“I actually invited Mario Lopez on Twitter to have a conversation to learn more. I do accept his apology, but there needs to still be… more conversation. So hit me up, Mario.”
In fact, earlier this week, Brown penned on social media:
“I’m disappointed to read @MarioLopezExtra comments about parent’s who support their child’s [openness] about their gender identity. As a social worker I am trained to identify abuse or neglect of a child Healthy & safe dialogue w/ kids is neither abuse, neglectful or ‘dangerous.’ I don’t think @MarioLopezExtra should be ‘canceled.’ But I do believe he should be given the opportunity to learn why his comments are harmful to trans youth and their parents. Mario, I’m ready to talk when you are.'”

On the other hand, Netflix co-star Jonathan Van Ness was not so lenient.
On Wednesday, JVN — who previously criticized Lopez’s statements after they went viral — SLAMMED the entertainment journalist’s “hollow” apology. He tweeted:
“Put your money where your mouth is @MarioLopezExtra spread some of your wealth and influence with this incredible [organization] @TransEquality (also your apology was so hollow & clearly crafted by a publicist)… How are you an ardent supporter of our community when you think like that? All the LGBTQ people you interview & you go talk like this and phone in an apology I just like really. No . Am. Not. Convinced. Takes more than an hour to gain the sensitivity you lack. GROSS”

In a statement to People, Lopez said:
“The comments I made were ignorant and insensitive, and I now have a deeper understanding of how hurtful they were… I have been and always will be an ardent supporter of the LGBTQ community, and I am going to use this opportunity to better educate myself. Moving forward I will be more informed and thoughtful.”
The 45-year-old has three children with wife Courtney Lopez: Gia Francesca, 8½, Dominic Luciano, 5½, and Santino Rafael, 3 weeks.
