Surprising everyone with the news of marriage, Kate Winslet‘s winter wedding will go down in the books as one the best-kept celebrity secrets of all time.
Because even though we all found out about it this week, they actually exchanged vows earlier this month! So throw her in with the mystery ranks of Natalie Portman!
Saying OF COURSE I DO in a heated barn nestled in New York’s Catskill mountains, the fun-loving couple were surrounded by wild flowers in jam jars and colored lanterns.
AND THEY DIDN’T EVEN INVITE THEIR PARENTS!
As we mentioned previously, the ‘rents weren’t even aware of their children’s sacred ceremony. But now we know they dropped the bomb — VIA SKYPE!
And this is how Ned broke the news to his stepbrothers (which, we’re guessing, is the same method they used for the rest of the relatives):
“Ned rang them on Skype late that night and said, ‘Would you like to speak to my wife?’ and pulled a beaming, giggling Kate into the shot. It was very sweet and they’re happy.”
Ha! Perfection! We wouldn’t be surprised if they were enjoying a few cocktails during that… or maybe they were just drunk off love. Whichever!
BUT ON TO THE RINGS.. BLING BLING MOTHALOVAHS…
According to one wedding source, they had the platinum, diamond-encrusted bands made to order during a trip in Hong Kong.
And as far the baby-plans go, another source insists:
“Marriage has always been on the cards and they’ve been talking about doing it for the past couple of months. It wasn’t a spur-of-the-moment thing, but they wanted to keep it secret. Ned says a baby is definitely the plan for them next — and they’ve had a lot of fun practicing.”

We can’t wait to see a mini-Kate strutting around Tinsel Town. Or even a lil’ Ned Jr bangin’ his drumsticks across the pond! Ha!
