It’s official! Katie is kaput!
Disney–ABC just threw in the towel on Katie Couric‘s daytime talk show! They’re pulling the plug after the airing of season two’s final episodes next June!
Katie and the network released a joint statement today, insisting the decision was mutual. It read:
“We’re very proud of everyone’s contributions to making Katie the No. 1 new syndicated talk show of 2012-13, and we look forward to the rest of the season.”
Aww! Katie‘s ratings haven’t been stellar, with some folks even calling them disastrous, so this cancellation isn’t exactly a huge surprise!
Still, we love Katie — it’s sad!
Thankfully, the legendary journalist and TV personality won’t be lining up for food stamps. She already reached a $6 mil agreement with Yahoo! to become their global anchor in 2014.
Get that money, gurl!!
