And there you have it!
Moments ago, the news became official that Katie Couric will making ABC the home of her new syndicated talk show. That’s pretty big news for anyone who hasn’t read a newspaper, turned on the TV, scanned the Internet or been to our website for the last few weeks. Still, it’s nice to have it confirmed!
Anyway, Katie released a statement following the announcement, sharing her thoughts on returning to the network she shares a very special bond with. She said:
├óΓé¼┼ôI├óΓé¼Γäóm very happy to be returning to the network where I began my career as a desk assistant in 1979. It is tremendously exciting to have the creative freedom to develop my own show with Anne Sweeney, the Disney/ABC TV Group and Jeff [Zucker], and to contribute to such a vibrant, innovative news division.”
The project, which according to her contract, Katie will be part owner of (translation: CHA-CHING!), will debut on the alphabet network in September 2012.
Well, it was a hard road to get here Katie, but we hope you got everything you wanted! Best of luck with the show! We’ll be seeing ya in 2012!
