Tom Cruise has already been named a cinematic icon, but Katie Holmes still has some work to do to get to that level of stardom.
Needless to say, the 33-year-old still has PLENTY of time and has lined up her next project. The actress is in negotiations to join a seasoned ensemble cast in the adaptation of Anton Checkhov’s classic play, The Seagull.
Katie is in talks to play “the temperamental daughter of the estate├óΓé¼Γäós caretaker” in the adaptation that marks the directorial debut of Dexter actor Christian Camargo. She’ll star alongside William Hurt and Allison Janney in a modern retelling of the play ├óΓé¼┼ôset in rural New England where reckless desire wreaks havoc over Memorial Day weekend as a family confronts the volatile and fragile nature of love.├óΓé¼┬¥
This sounds like an ambitious project which will really allow Katie to flex the thespian muscles she’s built up since her days on Dawson’s Creek. Hopefully this film will be an opportunity for her to step out of her husband’s giant shadow and shine like the star we know she is!
