So much drama surrounding this show!
To recap, earlier this month, Visionaire Media filed a lawsuit against Discovery Communications, claiming they stole the idea for TLC’s All-American Muslim from them!
Then, the Florida Family Association spoke out against the show, which “follows five muslim families living in Michigan and documents discrimination they face on a regular basis.” As a result, Lowes made the cowardly decision to pull their ads from the show.
THEN, Russell Simmons and Mia Farrow called for a boycott on Lowes, which elicited a quasi-apology from the company, but not a sincere one, so Russell impressively bought up all the remaining ad space!
NOW, travel site Kayak is the latest company to remove ad space from All-American Muslim! Boo!
Here’s what the company said about their disappointing move when asked about it on Twitter:
@StopBeck we believe it had good intentions, but we also understand concerns about specific content, so we excluded it from our ads with TLC
Wow. We’re SO disappointed with all these hateful, close-minded companies. Next time we go on a trip, we’ll be sure to stay away from KayUCK.
