Katie Couric was SPOT-ON!
After MONTHS of speculation and rumors running rampant, the official line-up for the judges panel of American Idol‘s 12th season has been formally announced by Fox this morning!
And just as it was anticipated, the lucky four will be Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Randy Jackson, and Keith Urban!
Mike Darnell, Fox’s President of Alternative Entertainment, says in a statement:
“With an unparalleled star like Mariah, fan-favorite Randy, chart-toppers like Nicki and Keith and our incomparable host Ryan, we’ve put together one of the most exciting judging panels around.”
And Simon Fuller elaborates:
“With the exciting addition of Mariah Carey, Keith Urban and Nicki Minaj, alongside Randy Jackson, American Idol’s star power has never been so great.”
And neither have their PAYCHECKS!
Insiders reveal that while she’s not making as much as Mariah, Her Minajesty’s contract is close to $12 million! Urban, who also announced he would not be returning for The Voice Australia this week, will be earning $3 – $5 million!
But don’t worry, all that money will be put to good use SOON!
In fact, for those potential contestants auditioning for the reality competition in New York, like TODAY soon!
That’s right, all four we be present today at the auditions, so get prepped, folks!
It’s going to be an ALL-NEW Idol this year!
And with its star-power now officially rivaling that of The X Factor and The Voice, we think it’s going to be VERY inneresting to see which one fans enjoy the most!
