As we had predicted, Kelly Clarkson‘s much-maligned new album, My December, lost the #1 slot on the U.S. album charts to Disney channel star Miley Cirus.
Clarkson’s last album, Breakaway, sold over 6 million copies in America. Huge hit!
She will be lucky if the new record sells a quarter of that.
According to Hits Daily Double, My December moved 300,089 copies its debut week.
That number was not good enough to beat Disney’s Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley, who sold 322,924 units.
Congrats Miley!
Kelly should just scrap this album as a loss and already start working on her next “comeback” album, hopefully out early next year so she can tour next summer.
