2012 is definitely the year of the horse!
Already one of (if not THE) most prestigious horse races in the world, the 138th Kentucky Derby broke some milestones this past week as well.
165,307 horse lovers watched as I’ll Have Another snuck up on Bodemeister to win the Derby, edging out last year’s 164,858 attendees as the most eva at Churchill Downs.
And the 165K folks brought their wallets too!
The all-sources handle of $187 million is the most in the history of the race, beating out 2006’s bet by $12 million!
And 12.3 million was bet at the track, also breaking a record!
Now THAT’S a stimulus package!
