The original Kermit the Frog puppet is headed for the Smithsonian!
Jim Henson‘s widow Jane Henson is donating the puppet, who was originally made from an old coat thrown away by Jim’s mom, and 9 others to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History.
Kermit made his TV debut in 1955 appearing on a show called Sam and Friends that ran after the local news in Washington.
He’s come a long way!
