Kerry Washington has a few things to get off her chest.
As you know, the Scandal star — who gave birth to her second child, son Caleb Kelechi Asomugha, earlier this month — took to Twitter over the weekend to talk about the Black Lives Matter movement, and why it’s so important for the “lives lost and for the lives we must protect.”
To begin the “rant,” the 39-year-old expressed gratitude to all her fans sending warm wishes after she welcomed the newest addition with her husband, Nnamdi Asomugha:
It’s a quiet Saturday afternoon. So, a few things I wanna get off my chest…

Then, Miz Washington shifted the conversation as she’s been struggling with yet another case of police brutality against African-Americans.

As you’re hopefully aware, Deborah Danner, 66, was shot by a uniformed New York Police Department sergeant last week in her apartment in the Bronx after police responded to a call saying Danner was behaving erratically. It is said she suffered from a mental illness.
In wake of the heartbreaking shooting, Kerry shared:
Also the loss of #DeborahDanner has rattled my core. Not only becuz of painful truth that we must continue to affirm that #BlackLivesMatter

My heart aches. For lives lost and for the lives we must protect. For the humanity we must work to illuminate and preserve and affirm. #BLM

Preach.
The Confirmation star went on the suggest everyone go see the critically-acclaimed movie Moonlight, a coming-of-age film centered around LGBT issues:
ALSO. Go see @moonlightmov this weekend. It is artful food for your soul. At a time when so many of us need to be lovingly nourished.
