Kevin Clash, the man who voiced Elmo on Sesame Street, just caught a break.
The men accusing him of molestation had to take their lawsuits to a court of appeals to try and get their cases moved forward.
Remember when the lawsuits were thrown out because they were past the statute of limitations? Remember when Kevin’s accusers appealed the court’s decision to dismiss their suits??
Well the court has finally ruled on their appeal… and they’re not gonna be happy.
Cecil Singleton, Kevin Kiadii and a man identified only “S.M.” had their appeals dismissed because, according to the court, they:
“[…] failed to provide any reason why [they] were unable to discover their injuries prior to 2012.”
So the judge is just saying it’s been too long. We feel awful for these men if their allegations are true.
Even with their suits dismissed there’s still another accuser and this man is in Pennsylvania, where the statute of limitations is a little more lenient. Just like in the awful Jerry Sandusky trial.
Clash might just be out of the frying pan, and still on his way into the fire.
