Wow!!
Kevin Smith recently shared an Instagram photo that revealed he has already finished filming his upcoming movie Yoga Hosers, and we couldn’t be happier to see the two girls joining him for the snap.
You know, the stars of the flick? Johnny Depp‘s daughter Lily-Rose and Kevin’s own daughter Harley Quinn!
Here’s what he wrote in the photo’s caption:
“Just wrapped week 2 of #YogaHosers! Harley and Lily have been excellent! 30 minutes of the movie already edited!”
But what we soon noticed however in the photo was that Kevin Smith, who had struggled with weight problems for the entirety of his life, was looking MUCH slimmer in the posted photo!
And it wasn’t just us who noticed, but a lot of folks!
Well, someone finally was able to grab an answer from Kevin about his much changed appearance, and he explained what the secret was to his dramatic weight loss.
Here’s what he said:
“True story: on Tusk, I learned how to lose weight WHILE making a movie. The secret is to not eat sugar and stand all day. I never sit behind the monitor: I’m always moving now. I’ve been wearing a Jawbone bracelet and using the UP app to count my daily steps and every day this week, I’ve averaged 12,000. That’s close to walking 5 miles a day. I NEVER walk 5 miles a day EVER. So while I stand there every day making this weird little movie with my kid and her friend in it, I’ve been quietly cutting pounds in the process. This is why I’ve been stringing so many movies together lately: filmmaking, for me, has proven to be an excellent exercise regiment.”
Wow! That’s pretty inspiring!
Although not everyone will be able to follow that kind of diet – losing weight while making movies – it’s still pretty inspiring to see someone have success with a problem that had followed them throughout their whole life.
And actually that’s some pretty good advice! Cut down on the sugar, and try to keep moving throughout the day!
Good thing Kevin Smith didn’t follow the lead of his old character Silent Bob and keep quiet on the matter because otherwise we may have never learned this golden nugget of knowledge from the director!
