As we mentioned last week, the photoshop wizards for PETA deserve a huge raise. They’ve actually transformed the lesser-known Kardashian sister’s body and face into something more bearable to look at.
Though after her ad came out, several photos of Khloe Kardashian popped up all over the internet showing the fur-loving girl wearing some animal-made coats earlier this year.
So, has Khloe seen the light or is she just doing the ad for publicity?
A rep for PETA contacted PerezHilton.com and told us:
Like many others who have posed for our campaign, Khloe once wore fur. It was photos of her wearing it that prompted us to reach out to her and a few months ago we had the opportunity to present her with the facts. As soon as Khloe watched the undercover investigations and saw how animals are electrocuted and skinned alive for their fur- that was it. She has never worn it since. Khloe has an open mind and a big heart and wants to do everything she can to draw attention to the bloody fur trade.
Many people who have worn fur or designed with fur in the past like Eva Mendes, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, and now Khloe Kardashian, have learned about the cruelty behind fur and are doing their part to stop it. We look forward to counting you among the compassionate stars who bare all to save animals!
And even Khloe has taken to her blog to try and prove she’s not a hypocrite. She says:
As some of you might have seen today, there are several people who have taken to the web calling me a hypocrite and posting photos of me wearing fur.
The reason PETA approached me initially is because in my past I did wear fur and they wanted to educate me on the brutal ways in which animals are skinned for their pelts. After watching their video once, I was so horrified that I immediately swore off fur. The cruel treatment I saw had a great impact on me and I am deeply hurt that people are trying to criticize me for uneducated choices I made in my past that I now regret terribly.
I do know there are tons of photos where I am wearing fur pieces so this is to be expected, but I just wanted to let you know the real story behind my conscious decision and compassionate change of heart.
I have changed my ways and I hope that many other people will as well.
