Well, these comments are certainly going to provoke a pretty strong reaction from many, wouldn’t you say?
Kim Kardashian must be spending way too much time with her boyfriend, Kanye West, because during a recent interview, the starlet defended her meteoric raise to fame…by comparing reality television to rap music!
She explains:
“I think it├óΓé¼Γäós fascinating, because it’s still entertainment, you know? It├óΓé¼Γäós fun to see the progression of that idea. I don├óΓé¼Γäót take offense to it at all. I├óΓé¼Γäóm not na├â┬»ve to the fact that I├óΓé¼Γäóm not a singer or an actress or anything like that. I├óΓé¼Γäóve never claimed to be anything that I├óΓé¼Γäóm not. I think [reality] is still a new form of entertainment that was kind of an unexpected thing. It reminds me of rap music. When rap music first came out, people were like, We don├óΓé¼Γäót understand this, what is this, it├óΓé¼Γäós just a fad. But rap music is definitely here to stay, and I think reality shows have proven they are as well. But when something is newer, people don├óΓé¼Γäót really understand it. I think reality shows are taking over that genre, but I think the draw to our show is that we are relatable … I think it├óΓé¼Γäós just a new world with social media. The interaction I have with my fans and the access is so much fun to me. I love that connection. I think there was a quote where somebody said that reality stars will never get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. So, of course I├óΓé¼Γäóm so competitive that I think that it would be a huge achievement and a goal that anyone would want. I would love to break that mold.”
Wow! Where do we even begin? LOLz!
You make a, ahem, ‘unique’ point, gurl, but we think you’re missing the fact that while rap music may not have been embraced by all audiences, it is still an ART FORM deeply rooted in African culture. Not to mention that it takes a lot more talent and work to accomplish than being followed around by a camera crew!
That’s not to say what you do doesn’t provide entertainment, but again, there’s really no comparison to be made here!
Just our opinion!
How about U? Do U think Kim makes an inneresting point…and does she deserve a star on the Walk of Fame?
