How inneresting!
In case you were unaware, Kim Kardashian has her own eBay store where she sells personal items to fans or anyone else who wants to buy her designer wares.
Yesterday, the reality TV star announced on her website that she’d be donating the proceeds of a current eBay auction to a disaster relief fund for Typhoon Haiyan, similarly to Victoria and David Beckham!
She posted the following about her decision:
“Hi guys, this is a very special auction because a portion of the proceeds of my eBay auction are going to International Medical Corps, which is a nonprofit organization that provides critical health services on remote islands where families are struggling to access medical care and basic resources like food, clean drinking water and vital medications. The proceeds will go directly to the communities they’re serving in the Philippines and will help typhoon survivors get access to medical care and ultimately save lives. My prayers and thoughts are with those affected by the typhoon. Check out my eBay auction here and support those who need our help in the Philippines. Xo”
However, when you actually go to her eBay store, it’s very clear that the “portion” Kimmy’s donating is only 10% of her proceeds.
It’s a little bit awkward that she and her family run a multi-million dollar empire, and all she’s publicly giving up is a mere fraction of her eBay profits to support people devastated by such a tragic natural disaster.
But she should still be applauded for donating anything at all!! And hey, maybe she’s secretly doing more for the victims than we know.
Still slightly awks though. Check out her auction HERE, and view screen shots of it …AFTER THE JUMP!!!
