Anyone who watches Keeping Up With the Kardashians or reads the tabloids has probably seen the whopper of a ring Kris Humphries bought Kim Kardashian.
The 16-carat diamond is like the Titanic of engagement rings! It’s huge!
And while the basketball pro paid $2mil for the rock, jewelry appraiser and gemologist Amanda Streyer says he’ll be lucky if he gets even a million for it back:
The diamond market and the economy being what they are right now, they will be lucky to get a million for the ring. And who gets the money is anybody’s guess.
As most etiquette classes will point out, it’s traditional for the woman to keep the ring as it’s seen as a gift. But in cases of short marriages, it’s most polite to return the ring to the purchaser.
Of course, the money they made from the actual wedding will well make up for the lost million here, we’re sure. Also, did Kris even pay for the ring???
