Are there any two celebrities more similar than Hillary Clinton and Kim Kardashian?
Of course not, if you ask Newt Gingrich. The former Speaker of the House was on CNN’s Crossfire discussing the Former Secretary of State’s political prowess as a possible Presidential candidate.
Not only does he think it’s not up to par with hubby Bill Clinton; he seems to think she’s as embarrassing as, well, let him say it:
“You have to understand the problem Bill has. Bill is to politics what Fred Astaire is to dancing, he is just automatically amazing and he wants to have Ginger Rogers out there dancing.
Instead [with Hillary Clinton] it’s a little bit like watching Kim Kardashian get kicked off the stage by Prince because she couldn’t dance.
I think there’s a big problem, because I don’t think, as a candidate, that [she] dances very well.”
OK, first off, let us just say that we are surprised Newt Gingrich even knows who Kim is, let alone that he’s aware of that 2011 dance debacle! (Just for fun, we reposted below!)
Secondly though, isn’t Newt the guy who was forced to resign as House Speaker after ethics violations, couldn’t get together a bid for president until 2012, and then lost the nomination to Mitt Romney??
To keep the metaphor going, having Newt assess someone’s political acumen is kind of like having Carlton from Fresh Prince assess your dancing skills.
Oh, we’ll just say it. Get off the political stage, Newt!
