This is fast becoming a very, very serious and alarming legal development involving Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann’s family.
The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star and the retired NFL player’s 15-year-old son, Kroy “KJ” Biermann Jr., was officially indicted Thursday by a Georgia grand jury on seven felony counts, according to court records viewed by People and reported about on Friday.

The charges include aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery, aggravated sodomy, false imprisonment and three counts of sexual battery against a child under 16. The indictment relates to an alleged incident on April 23 of this year, per People and others.
As we’ve been reporting, Kroy Jr. was arrested August 17 in Alpharetta, Georgia, and taken into custody at the Metro Regional Youth Detention Center in Atlanta, according to documents previously obtained by the magazine. He remains in custody and is next scheduled to appear in court September 9.
As you’ll recall, following KJ’s arrest, Zolciak strongly denied the allegations against her son. In a statement to the media at the time, she called them “nothing short of reckless and deeply troubling.”
She added at the time that:
“The allegations being made against my son are nothing short of reckless and deeply troubling. He categorically denies ever being involved with this woman or engaging in the conduct she has alleged.”
She also said her son voluntarily took a polygraph examination and passed, and that testing found no DNA belonging to him.
Kroy Jr. is one of six children Zolciak and Biermann share. The couple, who have been embroiled in a contentious divorce, continue to navigate significant family and legal issues.
For now, the case against their teenage son is moving forward, with that court appearance looming next week…
