Princess Diana‘s brother Charles Spencer has written a memoir, and the contents are already dropping jaws across the world!
Daily Mail claims to have received a preview of the tell-all, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, and they’re sharing an excerpt that contains a shocking allegation about a 1997 version of Prince Charles.
Per the British outlet, Spencer claims in his book:
“Prince Charles continued his stream of anger, without me interrupting. Then he stopped. I assumed the pause signaled an effort to bring himself under control, but then he unleashed down the phone what I have always taken to be his pent-up contempt for Diana, and his horror that the world was so bowled over by her death. ‘Rest assured,’ he hissed, ‘we’ll forget her soon enough!’”
Wow.
As the whole world knows, Princess Diana died in 1997 following a horrific paparazzi chase that caused the car she was riding in to crash in the Pont de l’Alma tunnel in Paris, France. The entire world was sick with grief.
Princess Diana was no ordinary royal. While she honored countless expectations and duties, she also remained a free spirit, always following her heart and what she felt was true and right.

Charitable causes were genuinely near to her heart, and she often spoke out for issues that others may have shied away from at the time. Most notably, she helped break down the stigma of AIDS when, back in April 1987, she opened the United Kingdom’s first HIV/AIDS unit at London’s Middlesex Hospital.
At the time, most people were still ignorant when it came to how HIV was transmitted. People who had it couldn’t even cough without discriminatory looks from those around them. So when “the people’s princess” shook a patient’s hand without wearing gloves, it sent shockwaves through culture, helping to open people’s eyes and raise awareness. Not only was she making a statement about it being safe to be close to those with HIV, she was also reminding everyone of the importance of compassion.
She was always reminding the world of the power of kindness, and that’s just one example of many. So when her life was tragically cut short, and in such a preventable way, people were beyond heartbroken.

Now, to hear there were such callous words allegedly spoken by her ex-husband and father of her children, well, of course that’s going to make headlines. Per the Mail, Diana’s brother responded to Queen Elizabeth II‘s son by saying, “I can’t believe you just said that,” and hung up.
According to People magazine, Buckingham Palace has no comment, which… isn’t exactly a denial…
It’s of course important to note that is has been nearly 30 years since that awful moment in time, and we’re sure King Charles has grown since then and reflected more on his time with the Princess.
