Kirsten Dunst Rejects The Idea She Needs To Hurry Up & Lose Her Post-Baby Weight: 'I Don't Care'

Kirsten Dunst speaks out about losing her post-baby weight.

Kirsten Dunst is in no rush to snap back and shed those pregnancy pounds after becoming a mom!

The Spider-Man alum welcomed her first child, a son named Ennis Howard, with fiancé Jesse Plemmons a little over a year ago in May of 2018.

And, while most celebrity and everyday moms alike usually bee-line their way to the gym in months after giving birth, the actress recently revealed she’s completely unbothered by the idea of needing to lose her post-baby weight!

The 37-year-old told NET-A-PORTER’s digital magazine PorterEdit in an interview published on Friday that her status as established thespian eases the pressure to fit anyone else’s physical standards but her own. She said:

“The benefit of growing up with [celebrity] is that I have a very healthy perspective of being an actress. I haven’t worked out once since I had my baby.”

Instead, the mother-of-one says her positive mindset is all she really needs, adding:

“I’m not one of those people who says, ‘Ohhh I have to get my abs back.’ I feel like I’ve established myself as an actress.”

Okay, girl, we hear you!

The Bring It On alum certainly cemented herself in pop culture history long before becoming a momma, no question there!

On the subject of her self-image, Dunst noted that she has “a healthy amount of vanity that hasn’t tipped into something really destructive” and she aimed “to find parts where I don’t have to be that person.”

Kirsten went on to thank one of her positive role models, filmmaker Sofia Coppola, for helping develop a rock-solid perspective on personal body image early in her career.

“I had good influences growing up. I worked with Sofia [Coppola] when I was a teenager, and she said, ‘Don’t fix your teeth. People will tell you to fix them, but you’re beautiful. You don’t need to.’”

Referencing her time spent shooting the acclaimed Marvel movie series, the Mary Jane Watson portrayer said:

“Later, when I was working on Spider-Man, people were recommending a dentist. I would think, ‘Well, Sofia likes my teeth. She’s so natural, so chic and feminine, and she’s directing movies.’ If she thinks I’m pretty, I’m pretty.”
