Kirstie Alley has some BIG opinions about the current sexual misconduct firestorm.
On Wednesday, the Cheers alum took to Twitter to seemingly defend the many Hollywood heavyweights recently fired over claims of sexual misconduct. This particular tweet dropped amid Matt Lauer‘s ousting from NBC News for “inappropriate sexual behavior.”

The industry vet wrote:
What the hell is happening? We now live in a country where people lose their jobs when accused of something without proof or trial or in some cases w anonymous accusers? Can’t confront your accuser? This is bullshit. And IT HURTS THE REAL VICTIMS of abuse. AND innocent people.

Whoa, whoa, whoaaaa. Kirstie, who are YOU to be dictating how victims handle harassment and/or assault?? There is no one right way to take on an abuser.
Understandably, Miz Alley got quite a bit of backlash for her victim-blaming tweet. In fact, Kirstie’s followers clapped back with:
Take a seat Kirstie!

Take several seats. #cancelled

In what state does an employer need a judge or jury to tell them who they can fire? “Person accused of sexual harassment” is not a protected class.

Terminating someone after conducting an investigation is hardly “taking their word for it”.

In an attempt to maintain the moral high ground, the 66-year-old claimed she was in no way talking about Lauer’s recent fall from grace. Alley added:
I may be mistaken (I’m not) I don’t believe I’ve ever mentioned Matt L. in ANY tweet EVER.. another example of MISDUPLICATION run a muck
— Kirstie Alley (@kirstiealley) November 30, 2017
Hey, Kirstie — you can’t blame people for thinking you were talking about the former Today show host. We mean, your timing was PRETTY suspicious.
Lauer was also defended by Fox News pundit Geraldo Rivera, who claimed that “news is a flirty business.” Ugh. No.
Still, it appears that the Scream Queens vet is well aware that she fucked up, as she concluded:
Ok on another note..there is SO much GOOD IN THIS WORLD ..And I just hope all this chaos doesn’t occlude the GOODNESS around us.. take justice against the bad and REVEL IN THE GOOD

My prediction for 2018? A lot less dicks are gonna see the light of day in the work place

We aren’t sure those posts are enough to save your ass this time around, Kirstie!! Sorry, girl.
