Kourtney Kardashian Says She Prefers To ‘Nurse The Fever' Out Of Her Kids Instead Of Giving Them Medication!

Kourtney Kardashian Will ‘Nurse The Fever Out’ Of Her Kids Instead Of Giving Them Medication – And Thinks School Is Outdated

Kourtney Kardashian doesn’t like to follow the status quo when it comes to taking care of her kids… No matter what doctors say about how dangerous it is??

During an episode of her sister Khloé Kardashian’s podcast Khloé in Wonder Land on Wednesday, big sis opened up about how she operates as a parent to her children, Mason Disick, Penelope Disick, Reign Disick, and Rocky Barker. According to Kourtney, she often likes to “go against the grain.” She said:

“Once I started therapy, I kind of started challenging the ways we did things sometimes, like the way that we all just functioned. I love to just go against the grain. I think living authentically is not conforming, to whatever it is. … I do it with everything. It’s not about our family. Like let’s say the school system, I’ll think, ‘Why do kids f**king go to school?’ Truly, it’s so dated.”

Um… sorry, what?? Why send the kids to school?? There are actually basics they should learn, not just about reading, writing, and arithmetic, but also social interaction with people who aren’t family or employees.

Kourt noted her kids often send videos about adults who are successful and didn’t attend traditional schooling, adding:

“So, then I’ll start thinking, okay what’s the goal here? Want to do home school? Let’s do it.”

Wait, so the Poosh founder has time to homeschool her kids? Or is she talking about expensive tutors, because that’s a very different conversation.

But as far as being against the system, the 46-year-old reality star says she’s like that “with everything.” Even when her kids are feeling unwell. Kourtney continued:

“I will like nurse the fever of my kids versus giving Tylenol or ibuprofen. I just want to do that.”

OK, hold up. If Kourtney wants to homeschool her kids, that’s up to her. But as for her methods of treating a fever — or lack of them? That’s genuinely worrying. According to the Mayo Clinic, a fever “usually isn’t a cause for concern” and will “generally go away within a few days.” Someone doesn’t “necessarily need to treat a fever if it’s not causing discomfort.” However, that’s not the case for everyone.

For kids, a fever can cause serious side effects. Kids “between the ages of 6 months and 5 years are at increased risk” for febrile seizure, “a seizure that occurs during a fever.” The UC Davis Children’s Hospital noted fevers can cause dehydration in children without proper management. And in general, Johns Hopkins Medicine pointed out that if “a fever that is making them uncomfortable,” it “should be treated.”

It’s better to be safe than sorry and talk to your doctor about how to handle a fever or sick child. You may be the best parent in the world, it doesn’t give you medical training!
