Los Angeles has been trying for quite some time to get back a team for the NFL, and as it stands now, they’re super close to doing it.
When we say “super close” though, we mean that they have two hurdles left, but are significantly closer to it happening than they have been since 1999 when they lost out to the Houston Texans.
The first hurdle was the City Council voting 12-0 Tuesday to approve the framework of an AEG-backed downtown stadium deal!
The other two are “getting the site entitled for the project and striking a deal to move a team there.”
So, how far out are we?
Well, if a deal is struck to move the Chargers here, we could potentially see them starting in the spring with training and playing at a temporary location until the new stadium is done in 2016!
The end is in sight, though, which is exciting enough news!
