They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but after Lady GaGa‘s lawsuit with an ex-employee, they could cost Terry Richardson MILLIONS!
The plaid-wearing photog, who was hired to capture the pop singer’s Monster Ball tour, is being dragged into a nasty legal battle between GaGa and her former secretary Jennifer O’Neill.
Jennifer claims she’s owed 7,168 hours of overtime and $400,000 in damages, and believes Richardson’s hundreds of thousands of behind the scenes photographs could prove her case.
Richardson lawyered up to keep the 142,000 photographs from entering into evidence because if used, the pics automatically become part of the public record. That means anyone and everyone would have access to pics and Terry wouldn’t be able to collect royalty fees.
Steven Hurd, Richardson’s lawer, objected to the photos being used by saying:
“Mr. Richardson├óΓé¼Γäós business and livelihood depend on the value of his photographs.”
He also claimed that Terry would suffer “immeasurable financial loss” if the photos were unsealed.
Unfortunately, Richardson’s request to keep his pictures out of the dramz was denied by the judge presiding over the case.
Terry reportedly raked in $58 million from selling photos between June 2012 and June 2013, which puts into perspective the amount of money he could lose from this lawsuit.
Ouch! What a terribly mucky situation!
