Lamar Odom is really coming clean in his new book.
Darkness To Light doesn’t hit shelves until May 28, but excerpts are dropping that are way too powerful to ignore.
We shared with you some of what he wrote about the disintegration of his marriage to Khloé Kardashian, how he “was faithful to her” at the start.

Unfortunately, as he wrote:
“I couldn’t keep my d**k in my pants or the coke out of my nose.”
As it happens, those two vices were interlinked. But more on that later.
For now let’s talk about sex.
Lamar admits in his book to being “a sex addict,” writing:
“I have been obsessed with sex for as long as I can remember.”
It can’t be an easy thing to reveal. But it’s not the obsession that’s most shocking. It’s the compulsion.
As a result of being obsessed with sex — and, you know, being a rich and famous basketball player — Lamar says he has had sex with a shocking number of partners.
He doesn’t know the exact number but he’s sure it’s MORE THAN 2,000 WOMEN!
Yowza.

The NBA star may not ever be compared to Wilt Chamberlain on the court but in his private life? Those are some record challenging numbers.
He revealed:
“There were too many strippers to count. It wasn’t a big deal, but often I would pay them. I never thought less of them.”
Of course, Lamar admitting many of those women were prostitutes isn’t all that shocking. We were made keenly aware of his love of prostitutes after he overdosed at the famous Love Ranch brothel in Nevada.
While he contends sex was a mental health problem for him, a real addiction, he doesn’t view what he was doing as sinful — until he did it while he was married.

Lamar spoke to People in an interview about the book, opening up to the outlet about when Khloé first found out he had been cheating on her:
“I was shocked and embarrassed. I wanted to take it back, but you can’t. [I] wanted to hide it. But that sick sin was hard for me to hide…”
And it didn’t start with paying for stripper strange. He explains the sex addiction was closer to home at first:
“I had a problem. [I] ran out of porn to watch! That’s how you know when you are going a little overboard.”
Unfortunately there was that other problem.
For Lamar, sex was a gateway drug. He explained:
“Sex was a trigger for me to do drugs. Because you double up on [that] good feeling.”
On that fateful night in that Nevada brothel, and on the hospitalization that followed, Lamar said:
“That was the wake-up call. Like, this can’t happen again.”
He’s lucky he woke up at all.
Thankfully he did and got the help he needed. As he writes in the memoir:
“I’m still an addict. I still struggle… [But] I will not go into the darkness. Ever again.”
We hope he’s right.
But does that mean he’s done going into the champagne room?
We guess we’ll have to read the book to find out.
