Now that a gas-masked gunman has killed 12 and injured dozens at a Colorado showing of The Dark Knight Rises, how spOOked will citizens everywhere else feel?
That’s one of the concerns circulating through Los Angeles & New York police departments Friday morning. And to alleviate some of said worry, both departments have issued statements regarding the matter.
In Hollywood, many Batman fans will flock to the Arclight cinemas. Being one of the grandest movie theaters in the world, there’s a lot to examine here. But Sgt. Enrique Mendoza‘s expert opinion suggests nothing to fear.
While security will be increased, he says:
“There’s nothing that suggests that there’s anything sinister planned beyond what happened in Colorado. What happened in Colorado appears to be an anomaly, an isolated incident.”
Of course, others worry copycats will come out of the cracks, which is why NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly states:
“As a precaution against copycats and to raise the comfort levels among movie patrons in the way of the horrendous shooting in Colorado, the New York City Police Department is providing coverage at theaters where The Dark Knight Rises is playing in the five boroughs.”
GOOD, GOOD, AND GOOD!
Some may call it paranoia, but we deem it proactive thinking! We’d take safe over sorry any day of the week! That, or really hot Christian Bale clones to protect us everywhere we go… Ha!
